We know you might have some questions before you sign your child up for a Gold Star class. We have put together our most frequently asked questions. If we have not addressed your questions, let us know! Shelly@goldstargymnastics.com
Q: What is your tuition policy? A: Tuition is due prior to your scheduled class. Payment of tuition entitles the student to a fixed and guaranteed number of classes. All classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q: Are there any other fees? A: A non-refundable annual registration fee of $31 for the first child, $28 for the second child and $23 for the third child must be paid prior to enrollment. This fee is not included in the class fee.
Q: What is the "Early Bird Tuition Rate? A: A tuition reminder is sent home (we even provide an addressed return envelope!) prior to the start of the next 4-week session. Payment is due PRIOR to the start of the next session...this is called the "Early Bird" rate. If paid AFTER the start of the session, the Regular Rate is in effect.
Q: How often is tuition due? A: Tuition is due for Fall-I, Fall-II, Fall-III, Winter-I, Winter-II, Winter-III, Spring-I, Spring-II, Spring-III, Summer-I, Summer-II, Summer-III. However, we hold an open house/pre-registration for Fall-I is treated with Vacation Credits.
Q: Help! I am a loyal client and forgot to pay tuition before the Early Bird date and my child's spot was filled. Why did you not call to remind me that tuition was due? A: It would not be possible to make contact with every client within the payment period. Don't forget, there is no way for us to differentiate those who "forget to pay" from those who intended to vacate their spot. Additionally we know from experience, phoning trains the public to think it's OK to wait to pay, escalating the problem.
Q: Why does Gold Star offer an evaluation rather than a free class for my school-age student? A: We can properly evaluate your student during a 15 minute evaluation. We then place or recommend a proper class within your time schedule. A free class would disrupt our strict student-to-teacher ratios.
Q: Do you offer make-ups? A: No, we do not offer regular makeups for missed classes. We, again, do not want to disrupt the strict student-to-teacher ratios. Instead, we occasionally offer an open gym pass as a replacement. However, a few times during the year, we will schedule a school-wide makeup day to be used by those who have missed a class.
Q: What should my child wear? A: A leotard is the preferred attire for girls, a tee-shirt and shorts for the boys. All hair is to be pulled up off the neck and securely tied. No jewelry allowed. All students go bare-foot. Please, for safety, we do not allow attached skirts on the leotards.
Q: Can I join after a session has started? A: Of course! Our programs are ongoing and your tuition will be prorated for the remaining classes.
Q: My 3 year old is really advanced for their age, can I put them with the 4 year olds? A: Please respect our age-groupings when registering. We have very small age ranges anyway and know exactly when each child should move into a different age-bracket.
Q: If the weather looks bad, what should we do? A: Look first on our website. In questionable weather, we post a weather report in the WELCOME! section. You may also call in the afternoon to see about classes being held.
